Don’t use this app myself but a few do,40 million of you in fact and if you have a device that runs Ice Cream Sandwich you’ll be pleased to know that the recent update now means you can carry on where you left off. For those of you who haven’t used Viber yet its very much the same as Skype and a bit like Whatsapp.

The app lets you call, text, send photos and locations with other viber users. These apps are just the thing that the networks are very worried about as they all bypass their billing process.  If you think how much it is to send a picture message all three do it for near enough free.  If every single smartphone owner had this on their device the networks could loose a lot of cash.

If you already have the app or indeed if you want to give it a try all you need to do is head over to the Android Market. People new to Viber will need to be running Android 2.0 onwards and have 4.3MB of space available.
