RSS Alarm Clock, wake up to the latest news
Wake up to all the latest news or your favourite podcast with a new app by Michael Dodd called RSS Alarm. The app uses Android’s Text-To-Speech which reads the text fed to it via your RSS Feeds. Your feeds are updated every 15 minutes but the developer will be giving you the choice to check in a future update. Other features include automatic importing of podcasts from Google Listen and other podcatchers,if you use a reader as your alrm clock RSS Alarm will kick in after you have hit the snooze button and continue from where you left off.
The app was in beta testing and one of the features requested by those was an option to have a night clock, this turns your handset in to a replacement for you traditional alarm clock. The developer, Michael is at Uni studying his final year BSc Computer Science , so along with building the app he is spending lots of time with his head in a book but he is more than happy to take any suggestions you have, you can also keep up to date with what he is doing by visiting his blog here.
I’ve downloaded the app and it looks great and is easy to set up and use, I love the night clock mode. It’s going for devices running Android 2.2 and up,costs only 99p and can be downloaded from the Android Market or scan the QR code below.
